The Davidson Wildcats basketball team is a basketball team that represents Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, in the NCAA. The school’s team currently competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2022. The Wildcats are currently coached by Bob McKillop. Davidson plays his home games at the Baker Sports Complex’s Belk Arena on the school’s campus.

Davidson was hitting three-pointers in college long before Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry grabbed the Larry O’Brien trophy as NBA champion. Those ties with Curry helped lead Davidson to a partnership with Under Armour on Thursday.

According to the Wildcats’ official athletics website, the school “agreed to a multi-year partnership with Under Armour.” The company “will complement 20 of Davidson’s 21 Division I athletic programs with training and game-day footwear, apparel and equipment effective July 1, 2016.”

The deal would eventually cover all 21 of Davidson’s teams two years later.

Under Armor sponsors Curry, and has appeared in several commercials for the sharpshooter company.

Coach

Bob McKillop’s 32-year tenure as Davidson’s head basketball coach has always been guided by his philosophy that the next step should be up. It’s the kind of thinking that has served Davidson Basketball well.

After seven seasons of competing in the tough A-10, it’s a philosophy that works and pays huge dividends. Davidson’s seven-year regular season record in the A-10 is 76–43 (plus 10–5 in the A-10 tournament), and it produced the school’s first major bid for the NCAA tournament as well as three NITs in 2015. . Roster

The 2020-21 Davidson Wildcats men’s basketball team represents Davidson College during the 2020-21 NCAA Division I men’s basketball season. The Wildcats were led by head coach Bob McKillop in their 32nd year and played their home games as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference at the John M. Belk Arena in Davidson, North Carolina. They finished the season 13–9, 7–4 in A-10 play to finish in third place. He defeated George Mason in the quarterfinals of the A-10 tournament before losing in the semifinals to VCU. They were invited to the National Invitational Tournament where they lost to NC State in the first round.

Seven years after Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry moved from Nike to Under Armour, the Baltimore-based sportswear brand is building an entirely different brand around itself with its new logo. (Curry’s alma mater Davidson University is already wearing a jersey with its new logo.)

Under Armor (UAA) will launch the Curry brand on December 1, the company announced on Monday, and has extended the launch of the next Curry Signature basketball sneaker to December 11, in time for the holiday shopping season and sometime before 2021. NBA Season Tips kicks off on December 22nd.
