David William Moyes (/mɔɪz/ MOYZ; born 25 April 1963) is a Scottish professional football coach and former player. He is currently the manager of Premier League club West Ham United. Daughter
The 27-year-old, who made only a few appearances for Manchester United before leaving Old Trafford in 2015, has now spoken out about the gossip in an interview on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.
Zaha says he “never even met” Moyes’ daughter and claims the club didn’t help him at that stage in his career.
“Nobody in the club told me anything, I didn’t know what to do,” he said.
“I remember tweeting something about it saying ‘silly rumours’ because it was happening so much so I had to say something myself and then I remembered the club media messaged me saying ‘ You shouldn’t have done that, you shouldn’t have done it.’ And I’m thinking ‘You didn’t help me.’
Contract
David Moyes has agreed a new three-year contract at West Ham and the deal is close to finalization.
The Hammers finished sixth in the Premier League last season and also made it to the Europa League.
Moyes was in charge at West Ham for six months during the 2017/18 season and rejoined the club in December 2019 after Manuel Pellegrini was sacked.
The Scott, who had managed Everton from 2002 to 2013, was linked with Carlo Ancelotti’s return to Goodison Park in June following the departure of Real Madrid.
Moyes was previously under consideration to replace Marco Silva at Everton in December 2019, before the club hired Ancelotti on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
