Fantasy
After two games it looks like I was wrong. David Montgomery remains ninth in opportunity share and second in route participation for this team. He averaged 18.5 touches and a total of 93 yards. His 21.4% goal share is astonishing (second among trails), but even more shocking is that he ranks tenth in yards per run. Houston ranks 30th in rushing yards per game and allows the 12th-highest rushing success rate. While the Bears’ offensive line is only allowing Montgomery to see 1.4 yards before contact, he can still find success against a run defense allowing a 19th explosive run rate. Montgomery is a solid RB2 that could end up as an RB1 this week.

Fantasy Outlook
The Bears have the most rewarding fantasy program for running backs in the NFL. It’s a huge advantage if offensive coordinator Luke Getty can make the most of Montgomery. Part of that effort will be to unlock Fields’ athleticism upon rollout.
