Return to Portland
When Damian Lillard was introduced for Milwaukee’s game against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday night, an appreciative Portland crowd gave him a standing ovation.
Leading Affirm Simmons with 24 points, Portland withstood a late rally by Milwaukee to win 119–116 over Lillard and the Bucks.
Lillard, who spent 11 seasons with the Blazers and still has a home in Portland, played his first game in the city since the offseason trade that sent him to the Bucks.
The sellout crowd at Moda Center greeted Lillard with cheers. He responded by applauding the fans and raised his hands in a heart shape before his Bucks teammates danced around him.
Divorce
Damian Lillard filed for divorce on October 2, stating that “their marriage has irreparably broken down due to irreconcilable differences between both parties.” Lillard filed the paperwork just days after the Blazers traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a blockbuster three-team deal.
