Portland Trail Blazers star Damien Lillard has a new sneaker project brewing.

Lillard Time is joining forces with Modelo Time for an exclusive sneaker drop to create custom Modelo Especial X DEM 7 EXT/PLYs.

When you think of Lillard as a basketball player, he embodies much of the “fighting spirit” that Modelo exudes as a brand, making the collab a natural fit. Modelo most recently collaborated with the Brooklyn Nets in April, and Lillard has made special editions of Dame 7 shoes in the past.

The sneakers use Modelo’s iconic blue and gold colorway as accents on a predominantly white upper, while incorporating elements of Lillard’s signature style, including his dame d’Ola. Logo.

Fans 21 and over have the opportunity to win a signed pair of Modelo x Dame 7 EXT/PLY kicks until May 31st. You can learn more by following @ModeloUSA on Instagram and Twitter, as well as logging into Lillard’s Twitter and Instagram.

Lillard will be sharing additional material about the collaboration with Modelo on Instagram over the next few days.

It’s Damien Lillard’s day, but he’s spending it at the US Adidas headquarters in Portland, Oregon, filming a social media spot the brand calls “Maker Lab.” In between, he sits on a large leather sofa in the studio, watching ESPN and asking the room what business is going on in the league. Just a few miles away is the Moda Center in downtown Portland, where Lillard goes to work as the Portland Trail Blazers’ All-Star point guard, breaks ankles and takes out all three in his new signature sneakers, the Adidas Dame 4. . It’s those sneakers. He has dragged her out of the house and into this sneaker workshop on the day off. But for good reason. On February 16, Adidas is dropping a version of its signature shoes, which are arguably its most iconic of all time—the Adidas Dame 4 x A Bathing Ape.

Wait, dad, as in Japanese streetwear brands? The label beloved by Pharrell, Kanye West and even the late Robin Williams? (No, seriously.) The primate-and-camo-loving company that’s been without its founder Nego for nearly five years? Yes, early on, the brand was the hottest streetwear on the planet, and today it’s making a steady comeback for a few reasons not the least of them are nostalgia. Ape has collaborated with Adidas on their Superstar and NMD models before, but never for an on-court sneaker shoe. Like many fanatics of the label, Lillard says that his fondest memories of dad were during Lil Wayne’s heyday, when the rapper was a mixtape god, dressed in oversized dad camo hoodies.

“I just miss him on all these wild colors, and that was when it got hot for me,” Lillard says. “Plus, when he had all the bap on [Vibe’s] cover, he set that trend for hip-hop fans and people inside town.” Lillard is a part-time rapper himself, and the two albums he’s released feature Lil Wayne — so inspiration matters a lot. But despite nostalgia from the Weezy’s Bape days, Lillard doesn’t believe in the brand.

Parents

Damien Lillard’s father, Houston Lillard, is the kind of father everyone wants to have a relationship with because he is a very kind, honest and caring person.

There is a formula that says, “An apple never falls far from a tree.” It absolutely fits Damien so well.

Yes, Damien has received many accolades that he is exactly like his father Houston, which he does not proudly dispute.

Damien’s mom often jokes, “You’re just like your father.”Damien said that they are like the same person, and if they have to emphasize one thing, they both care a lot about other people.

Would Damien have made it out of Oakland without his father to become the successful basketball player he is today? Perhaps.

But it is important to have a father or father in one’s life, no matter where you are from. And Damien is lucky that his father was always with him to tackle every challenge his life faced.
