Dalvin James Cook is an American football running back for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. He played college football at Florida State, where he finished his career as the school’s all-time leading rusher. Cook was drafted by the Vikings in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The biggest play of James Cook’s UGA football career came in a nationally televised, prime-time game against No. 2 Alabama, showing that when the junior running back gets his hands on the ball in the open field good things may be about to happen.
Brother:
Dalvin Cook, James’ older brother and the NFL star, was watching on TV on Oct. 17 when James motioned out of the backfield and lined up wide. Alabama inside linebacker Christian Harris moved over on him in single coverage.
The result: an 82-yard touchdown pass to Cook, the longest for Georgia since 2013.
“He’s a versatile back so I expect that from him,” Dalvin said by phone Wednesday from Minnesota, where he’s in his fourth season with the Vikings and is the NFL’s fifth-leading rushing.
Siblings:
Entering No. 5 Georgia’s game Saturday at Kentucky, Cook is fourth on the team with 87 rushing yards on 17 carries and fifth in receptions with six for 111 yards.
“I always tell him the yards and the stats, that’s what people always look for,” Dalvin said. “But when a coach turns on a tape, how do you play? Who is James Cook? How do you define yourself when you don’t have the football? What’s your attitude on the field? Things like that, that’s what I measure as a player. Other things will come as far as the stats.”
Week 14:
Many thought that Cook would flourish under first-year coordinator Todd Monken in a more wide-open offense. He hurt his shoulder in the second game of the season and missed the Tennessee game.
Maybe the Alabama game was the start of bigger things to come for James, who caught his first touchdown pass as a Bulldog.
