When did get injured
He get injured un week 5 of 2020. Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones told reporters after the game that Prescott needed surgery to repair a joint injury on the top of the thumb of his throwing hand and would miss “several weeks”.
“Real disappointed before Dack’s injury,” Jones told USA Today’s Jori Epstein, “and certainly disappointed after.”
Prescott told reporters that the surgery would take place on Monday, according to Epstein. He initially thought he had jammed his finger.
“Just another bump in the road,” Prescott said. He suffered a severe ankle injury in Week 5 of the 2020 season and did not return until the start of the 2021 season.
Will play against the eagles
Prescott is officially inactive for Sunday night’s fifth straight match against the unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles.
Fortunately for Dallas, the offense won’t be smaller than his other major weapon. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will activate after popping up as DNP on Friday’s injury report with a hip problem.
Lamb has been the Cowboys’ lead receiver in all three major categories this season, with 28 receptions for 341 yards and two touchdowns, including two catches and 29 yards with quarterback Cooper Rush.
Rush has provided a steady hand in the month he’s spent filling in for Prescott, but he’ll need to broadcast it more than usual if Dallas is to keep pace with Philly’s top-five ranked offense. He would often have to watch the Lamb’s way.
The Cowboys (4-1) and Eagles (5-0) start at 8:20 p.m. E.T. on Sunday
