As Prescott ramped up his intensity during Thursday’s second straight limited exercise, his calf reportedly hurt. Asked if Prescott will play on Sunday, head coach Mike McCarthy indicated that Prescott’s position is more than just a game away, adding that there is a ton of football left to play.
McCarthy seemed like a head coach making Prescott’s health a priority for the rest of the season – not just this week.
With a 5-2 record, the Cowboys are comfortably in first place in the NFC East. The remaining division is a combined 6-15. This is Dallas’ division in 2021, as long as they stay healthy. Quarterback Dak Prescott was part of the problem in his return from injury. He completed only 48.7 percent of his passes, and that was after adding up a bunch of waste time production.
He finished with 232 yards and two touchdowns. However, before those late drives, he was passing 23 out of 8 with 102 yards and one interception. His passer rating was 31.4.
At least he understood that his performance was not good enough and took the responsibility.
