Four-star point guard and Jackson, Miss. native Dashoon Ruffin has declared his commitment to Ole Miss on offers from Oberon, Florida, Mississippi State and LSU. Kermit Davis is on fire this season and keeps warm with her commitment to ‘the hottest guard in high school’. Entering his third year, Davis has answered the call after a rough follow-up to his NCAA Tournament by signing. Four-star Matthew Murrell, the highest-rated recruit in the program’s history, and then won gold in the transfer portal alongside Romelo White and Dimencio Vaughan.

Now, he’s added another genius piece to the Ole Miss basketball program with the verbal commitment of Ruffin, the No. 4 ranked point guard in the nation and the top player in Mississippi. Assistant coach Vin Case, whom Davis added to the staff in March of 2018, was a big part in the recruitment of both Murrell and Ruffin, who are both serious bowlers.

Ranked 25th in the USA Today Coach Poll, LSU fell to 16-6 on aggregate and 4-5 in the SEC. The Tigers were led by Darius Days in the scoring with 21 points.

Ole Miss improved to 12–10 on aggregate with the win and 3–6 in the SEC. The Rebels were led by Daishun Ruffin with 19 points.

Ole Miss freshman Daishun Ruffin will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury requiring surgery. Ruffin was injured Tuesday in Ole Miss’s upset win over No. 25 LSU. He led the Rebels that night to 19 points in just 20 minutes, Ole Miss head coach Kermit Davis said in a statement. “I feel bad for Daeshun, but I know he will strike rehab with a great maturity and come back stronger next season than he was before. Our team has been very resilient throughout the season, and we will be back on Saturday. expect to make no difference against a really good Florida team.
