Canberra’s board of directors has terminated the contract of center Curtis Scott after his involvement in the nightclub phenomenon, with more than half of his four-year deal yet to be completed. The Raiders issued a statement on Monday saying that the board had decided to take action effective immediately, as it had “carefully considered the statements made at the ‘show cause’ hearing with Curtis on August 17 and subsequently supplied material left”. Scott was signed by the club to a four-year deal in early 2020 after he was granted an early release by Melbourne. His time as the Raiders has been limited to just 23 appearances in the last 18 months due to suspension, injury and poor form.
