Google on Thursday celebrated the start of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2023 with an animated doodle, which will kick off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at 2 pm.
The doodle shows two ducks running between the wickets with spectators present in the background. Once the user clicks on the doodle on the Google homepage, he will be redirected to the complete schedule of the entire tournament.
The World Cup, which takes place every four years, is one of the world’s leading, most-watched and most popular One Day International (ODI) cricket matches. In the tournament, ten teams compete for the coveted cup. This year, it is India’s turn to host the quadrangular flagship tournament – the 13th edition since its inception in 1975. The World Cup will start from today, in which the first match will be played between defending champions England and New Zealand.
