The first looks of Michael B Jordan and Jonathan Majors from the highly anticipated Creed III have been released, and they look chiseled and menacing, to say the least. In the first poster, we see Jordan sitting directly in the ring looking at us as the tagline declares “You can’t run…”; Major takes a similar stance in his poster as Anderson Dame, which reads “…from your past”. While character and plot details are currently being kept tightly under wraps, all we can say is that Dame looks like a fierce rival to Creed.

Creed III marks the first feature in the Rocky franchise without Sylvester Stallone as Rocky. Jordan not only returns to the lead role, but also takes over directing duties for the first time. With Ryan Coogler, who directed the first Creed film still attached as executive producer, the film is shaping up to be a perfect final installment to the trilogy. Coogler also shared story credit with Keenan Coogler and Zack Bellin, both of whom also wrote the screenplay.

Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa doesn’t appear in Creed 3, but there may still be a chance for the character to appear in the film.

Creed 3 won’t feature Rocky Balboa, played by Sylvester Stallone, but there’s a specific reason for that. The film continues the story of Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), son of Rocky’s friend Apollo Creed, who was killed by Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. Stallone’s famed boxer played a key role in the spinoff franchise, starring as Adonis’ coach through Creed & Creed 2. However, the character is not returning for the third installment of the series. His absence was emphasized by the first trailer for Creed 3, which focused entirely on Adonis, his family, and his backstory, in addition to featuring a brief mention of Rocky.

Michael B. Jordan Looks Concerned And Serious As Adonis Creed In Creed 3 At A Boxing Gym
Creed 3 star and director Michael B. Jordan explains why the franchise took seven years. Jordan debuted as aspiring boxing champion Adonis Creed in the 2015 Rockies franchise entry. He then reprized the character in the successful 2018 sequel Creed II.

Now Jordan is ready to take the next step in his career as a filmmaker, tackling both starring and directing duties for Creed III. As shown in the recently released trailer, the third Creed film takes place seven years after the last, and sees Adonis reuniting with an old friend in Jonathan Majors’ Damien. But this friendship soon becomes complicated as Damien reveals he wants a shot at Donnie and his crown, setting off an epic battle between two men who were once like brothers.
