Wyoming coach’s career filled with Nebraska connections
Craig Bohl was fired by Nebraska in December of 2002. After serving as the NU’s defensive coordinator for the previous three seasons, and as linebackers coach from 1995–1999 prior to that promotion, Nebraska coach Frank Solich announced that Bohl had left after his defense. It is ranked No.8 in total defense in 2001 to 56th in 2002.
Following his firing, he became the head coach at North Dakota State, turning the Bison into a force. Bohl scored 104 victories at Fargo and won three straight FCS national championships before accepting a head coaching job in Wyoming.
When asked about his impressions of Bohl, John Parrella, coach of the Nebraska Defensive Line, said, “He’s had a lot of success where he’s been.” Parrella said that he knew Bohl personally, but had never played for him.
