Enamo avenged his controversial defeat at last year’s Cox Plate with a resounding victory in a weight-for-edge showpiece at The Valley on Saturday.

The win extended the James Cummings-trained son of the Street Boss’s unbeaten spring campaign to four, with his total record now 11 wins from 20 career starts.

Jockey James McDonald, after leading Zaki in the first half of the race, timed his run to perfection before coming home with Enamo’s wet sails.
Despite the eventual success, Cummings admitted that he had hiccups during the trip in preparation for the Cox plate.
“There were moments that would lead one less man to the bottle,” he said.
“But he’s managed by an extremely skilled team. I have some incredibly talented and passionate people behind him who help me look good.”
