The Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. The team’s national following might best be represented by its NFL record of consecutive sell-outs. The Cowboys’ streak of 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games (home and away) began in 2002. The franchise has made it to the Super Bowl eight times, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos for second most Super Bowl appearances in history, behind only the New England Patriots’ record eleven Super Bowl appearances.

Who Won the Game

The Buccaneers followed up their Super Bowl title with a victory to open the 2021 NFL season. They beat the Cowboys 31-29 at home Thursday night in a back-and-forth contest.

Tampa Bay had its share of issues and was plagued by turnovers. Ronald Jones had a fumble that led to a Cowboys touchdown; Leonard Fournette dropped a pass that became an interception; and Chris Godwin had a fumble to take away a scoring opportunity from the Buccaneers late in the fourth quarter and lead to a Cowboys go-ahead field goal.

Score of the Game

The Cowboys try one last-gasp play from the 25-yard line, but they only get one lateral before they’re brought down. The Buccaneers win.                                                Q1     Q2      Q3    Q4     F
