When did get drafted
The Los Angeles Rams are hoping they got a sleeper with the 69th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, selecting receiver Cooper Kupp from Eastern Washington.
While he was far from a household name during his college football career, Kupp remains one of the most productive players in FCS history.
He ended his career as the all-time FCS leader in catches (428), yards received (6,464) and touchdowns (73). He averaged 8.2 receptions for 124.3 yards per game during his four years with the Eagles.
The team also used him in special teams when needed, and he came in only 23 attempts in his final three seasons with three punt return touchdowns.
Kupp has solid shape with excellent hands for the 6’2″, 204-pound position that makes him a perfect outside receiver. Even without elite pace, he wins battles with the ball in the air and give your quarterback a wide margin for error.
He’s also not going to settle now that he’s reached the NFL.
“No part of my game will ever be good for me,” Kupp said on Sirius XM NFL Radio earlier this month. “Always going to be a part of my game under construction.”
He should be able to make an early impact for a Rams team that lost its best receiver to free agency to Kenny Britt. Jared Goff will clearly need weapons in his second year to help him with his development.
