Injury 2022

Cooper Kupp Injury history: Injury 2022| Update

Rams receiver Cooper Kupp left practice Tuesday night because of an apparent foot injury, Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.

Coach Sean McVay said immediately after practice that he did not know the seriousness of Kupp’s injury.

McVay said he was told that Kupp “came up a little bit in the red zone route.”

McVay said, “Obviously we’re a lot better when he’s here, and we hope he’ll be okay.” “If he’s not, we’ll see what happens, but practice had to go on.”

Kupp had only said four days earlier how “great” it was to be playing football again. A right ankle sprain ended his 2022 season prematurely as he finished with 75 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns in nine games.

Update

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp missed practice Tuesday due to a hamstring injury, the team announced.

“The team is not able to share a timetable for a return at this time,” Rams said.

Kupp appeared to be pulled during a rout, according to head coach Sean McVay, who did not provide specifics about the injury and was not briefed by the team’s medical staff at the time of his news conference.

“I hope he’s okay,” McVay said via Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic.

On Tuesday evening the team specified that it was a hamstring injury.

The All-Pro wide receiver has great chemistry with quarterback Matthew Stafford and is an invaluable piece to the Rams’ chances of returning to championship level after L.A. slumped to a 5-12 record during its 2022 Super Bowl defense.

Kupp was one of several high-profile Rams players to fall victim to injury last year. He sprained his ankle during a Week 9 contest, underwent surgery, and has not re-injured.
