Fantasy
Cooper Kupp was the only bright spot on the Rams’ offence in Week 1.
Cooper Kupp caught 13 of 15 passes for 128 yards and one touchdown in the Bills’ loss on Thursday.
The Influence of Fantasy
The Rams’ offence struggled to get anything going against Buffalo’s defence, but Kupp still put up WR1-type numbers.
His touchdown reception near the end of the second half was spectacular, with both feet in the end zone.
Each week, Kupp will be Matthew Stafford’s go-to target.
TD
With three minutes remaining in the second quarter, Kupp caught a 4-yard touchdown pass on second-and-goal, managing to stay in bounds in the corner of the end zone.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, Kupp has now scored a receiving touchdown in seven consecutive games, including the playoffs.
He also has 17 receiving touchdowns since the start of last season, three more than any other player in that span, and seven receiving touchdowns from inside the 5-yard line.
The latter figure breaks a tie with Mike Evans for the most in NFL history.
Kupp had six catches for 48 yards and the touchdown after the touchdown catch.
The Rams were trailing the Buffalo Bills.
Hometown
Kupp was born in the Washington town of Yakima.
He is the grandson of NFL offensive lineman Jake Kupp and the son of NFL quarterback Craig Kupp.
His family is one of only five in NFL history to have three generations drafted.
Kupp attended and graduated from Davis High School in Yakima in 2012, where he was a two-sport athlete for the Pirates athletic teams in football and basketball. He was a two-way All-State selection, earning first-team 4A All-State honours as a defensive back and honourable mention accolades as a wide receiver from the Associated Press, as chosen by sportswriters and broadcasters.
The Seattle Times also named Kupp a “White Chip” pick, one of the top 100 prospects in the country.
