Promoter

Ben’s promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that the date and place will be the date and place of Ben’s next fight, regardless of the opponent.

During his latest Instagram Live session, the matchroom head said:

“We certainly look forward to announcing Conor Benn’s next fight this week.

“We’re in the process of finalizing it and I think, at any moment, we’ll sign it.”

Whether the fight will take place against Eubanks Jr. remains to be seen, with Hearn still concerned about that potential matchup. When asked ‘Ben or Eubanks?’ Promoter replied

Conor Benn was born to parents Nigel Benn and Carolyn Jackson. His father, Nigel, is a retired boxer who competed between 1987 and 1996.

He was a two-weight world champion, collecting the WBO middleweight championship in 1990 and the WBC super-middleweight crown in 1992 and 1996.

Nigel was nicknamed “The Dark Destroyer” because of his massive explosiveness and combative style, with a win ratio of 83.3 percent.

The real intentions of Connor’s father Nigel, immortalized for his rivalry with Chris Eubanks, a former world champion, have terrified Connor in a way he never saw coming.

“I know when to retire,” said Connor sharply. “I know how to listen to people.”

2020’s Connor Benn, aged 23, was never the person he should have grown out to be. He’s afraid to make eye contact, has an intensity about his body language and his exterior is carefully crafted to send a message.

A bird of prey stares at you as it spreads across its throat. ‘No fear’ in plain sight is also a tattoo. He is dripping in a gold chain. When his shirt is taken off, ‘Destroyer’ is tattooed on his back and ‘Fear Lord’ is tattooed on his right. He stands in a tracksuit with his fists closed as if he meant business all the time.

Record

He is a 25-year-old welterweight boxer with a record of 21-0. He is ranked the eighth best welterweight in the world by ESPN and ninth by Ring magazine.

He is considered by many to be the next mainstream British star in the sport after Anthony Joshua, a face and a name that will be recognized not only by hardcore and casual fans, but also by your friend, who is your partner’s Tuesday sum. Not interested. Instructor, your mother.

He’s at the box-office, blessed with heavy hands, brutally good looks, and a relentless purpose-driven confidence, perhaps even that of destiny.

And he is the son of legendary British fighter Nigel Benn, Dark Destroyer, whose two-fight rivalry with Chris Eubanks in the 1990s catapulted both men’s names into legend.

Weight

Whether his weight is at the light limit of 135lbs, the middleweight limit of 160lbs, or Conor Benn’s chosen division of welterweight at 147lbs, it’s very rare that the fighter will actually be the same weight it comes in on fight night.

Ben fights at welterweight but undergoes a major transition to pre-fight

Boxers will often fight at a weight 20lbs lighter than their natural weight by severely dehydrating before weighing to gain a size advantage over their opponent.

That’s the idea, but that’s what so many boxers do these days that it’s almost a necessary exercise to stay competitive.

British welterweight power-puncher, Ben recently took to his Instagram to show the huge difference in weight before and after his physique.
