Contract
The Bulldogs have signed Sharks utility Connor Tracey as part of a quick swap of players that will send young gun Michael Gabriel the other way.
The Daily Telegraph reported early on Tuesday afternoon that Tracey was set to become the Bulldogs’ 10th off-season signing after the Sharks and Canterbury-Bankstown agreed to a player swap.
That deal was confirmed a few hours later when the Bulldogs released a statement announcing Tracy’s three-year deal.
The Sharks were originally reluctant to let Tracy go, but they have identified Gabriel as the player they want to pursue given his immediate release from the final year of his deal in 2024.

Tracey’s father Craig also represented the Sharks, playing 12 top grade games and 119 matches across all grades for the club.
Connor will feature as a winger against the Panthers this weekend in what will be his ninth appearance of the season. He has scored four tries in his eight matches so far.
And on Saturday night Tracey will fulfill her childhood dream of playing first grade for the Sharks, following in the footsteps of her father Craig, who played in 10 NSWRL games in the 1980s.
Tracey, 23, will come off the bench as a utility against his former team South Sydney at ANZ Stadium.
“When I was 12, in year six, I used to be a ball-boy. I did it for two seasons,” De La Salle Jr. told NRL.com.
“It was great. And then obviously my dad played, so I definitely always wanted to play for the Sharks.
“It will be a huge thing to wear that jersey and get that debut number. It will be a proud moment for me and my family.”
After almost being forced into premature retirement after three consecutive ACL failures, Tracey struggled to make his Telstra premiership debut with the Rabbitohs last year.
