The strange saga of the Connor Stalions now involves Central Michigan launching an investigation to determine whether the suspended Michigan football staffer was on the sidelines for the Sept. 1 game against Michigan State.
Central Michigan athletic director Amy Folan released a statement about the investigation after a photo circulated, leading to speculation whether the Stalions were standing on the sidelines.

Michigan’s junior football staffer Connor Stalions, who is at the center of an NCAA investigation into illegal spying on opponents and sign stealing, has resigned, the school said Friday.

Connor is a member of Stalions Michigan’s recruiting department who specializes in analytics. He joined the Wolverines last year after leaving the U.S. Marine Corps, but has been a volunteer assistant for the team for a few years. According to The Athletic, between 2013 and 2016, Stalions worked out for the Navy football program while attending the Naval Academy. He got his background working for the University of Michigan’s recruiting department.

Connor Stalions, the former Michigan football analyst at the center of an NCAA investigation into illegal off-campus scouting and signal stealing, resigned from his position Friday, the school announced.
Stalions, who officially joined Michigan’s staff in 2022 but had been in the program for several years, was suspended with pay by the school on Oct. 20 pending the outcome of the investigation.
A source initially told ESPN that Stalions had been fired, before Michigan announced later Friday that he had resigned. In a statement, the university said it was “unable to comment further regarding this personnel matter.”

You can’t say that Stalions isn’t exciting. According to Sports Illustrated, the 28-year-old Young was one of a handful of lower-level staffers who created a “long-term plan for running the Michigan football program.”
The plan was contained in a document spanning between “550 and 600 pages” and was “managed daily.” The Stalions themselves are reported to have called it the “Michigan Manifesto”.
While the Stalions attended the U.S. Naval Academy, both of their parents attended Michigan. “I’ve grown up my whole life with a vision of coaching football in Michigan,” the Stalions said in an online blog in early 2022. As it turns out, that plan just wasn’t in his mind. It was written in hundreds of pages, well organized and shared with others.
