Colin Kaepernick: Did sign with the seahawks| Why did retire

Colin Rand Kaepernick (born November 3, 1987) is an American civil rights activist and football quarterback who is a free agent. He played six seasons for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). In 2016, he took a knee during the national anthem at the start of NFL games to protest police brutality and racial inequality in the United States.

Did sign with the seahawks

Colin Kaepernick: Did sign with the seahawks| Why did retire

The Seattle Seahawks need a quarterback. But whatever reasons Seattle has previously given for not signing Colin Kaepernick, they no longer seem relevant.

Years before Kaepernick was released by the 49ers and replaced by Blaine Gabert (seriously, it’s true), Seattle snubbed Russell Wilson on bringing in Kaepernick to back up. This was cool because it seemed like Pete Carroll was shown to be an open-minded person and Seattle as a team and city that would be one of the few entertainers to bring in Kaepernick.

But Seattle didn’t sign Kaepernick in 2018 and, in fact, canceled his workout when Kaepernick reportedly promised not to stop kneeling for the national anthem. So it was definitely un-cool for Seattle to make them look like every other team.

Also, by the time Russell Wilson was quarterback, Kaepernick was not going to be a starter in Seattle. Kaepernick certainly knew this and it was the right thing to do to keep Wilson.

But now Russell Wilson is gone and the Seahawks need a quarterback. Seattle management hasn’t been telling us that Kaepernick has been out of the league for too long. Josh Johnson did not throw a pass from 2011 to 2018 and then started a game for Washington. Johnson was still in the league in 2021.

Why did retire

This is a question that only NFL owners can answer. Kaepernick has been a free agent since the 2016 season and teams have shown little interest in signing the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback. The NFL scheduled a workout for him in 2019, but it turned out to be just a distraction. Kaepernick, who was the first to kneel during the national anthem, is the only player to have failed to get a job in the NFL after protests. Others who followed suit are still playing in the league. At this point, Kaepernick is almost on a different level in terms of his activism. While waiting years, NFL owners have inevitably come up with the best excuse to avoid signing Kaepernick. He is now 34 years old and was last a regular full-time starter in 2014. That alone has an inherent excuse for not considering it.

As hard as the 49ers have worked, they still haven’t gotten an upgrade over Jim Harbaugh or Colin Kaepernick.

So what is the future of his playing? It’s hard to see him taking another shot at his current age. It’s not perfect, but it appears to be the reality of the situation. If a team were to sign him, it would have been done by now. many years have passed
