Injury
Although the mother-in-law of the four did not reveal how she injured herself, she can be seen wearing a cast that reaches to the middle of her shin. According to Dr. Ahmed L. Muntasar, this type of high-top soft cast boot is typically worn for minor ankle injuries, and he predicts that Colleen has sustained her injury over the past two weeks.
Fortunately for Colleen, this type of cast means she doesn’t need surgery. “Most if someone is wearing a high-top soft cast boot, they don’t need surgery, but you can’t say 100 percent,” Dr. Ahmed explains.
“If she needed surgery, she would need more support and would usually require a rigid cast boot and sometimes crutches,” he continued.
It’s an unfortunate timing that Colleen had to wear the cast during her highly publicized trial, and according to Dr. Ahmed, Colleen could be in the boot for between four and six weeks depending on the type of injury.

“Since the ankle is made up of many small bones, it can take ages for these small bones to actually heal and that is why it takes some time for things to return to normal,” Dr. Ahmed explains.
