Bonne nuit Tampa:
Cole Caufield played Saturday night’s game with the TVA Sports microphone installed on his kit and the small right winger did not disappoint.
Very expressive on the bench as on the ice, the Montreal Canadiens rookie even spoke a few words in French a few moments after Nick Suzuki’s winning goal in the shootout.
If you’re well-versed in Montreal Canadiens fan gossip, you may have seen social media go ablaze with intrigue after Cole Caufield posted an Instagram story suggesting he had put down roots in the city and bought his own home.
House:
When they’re not setting each other up for highlight-reel goals, the duo can often be seen laughing it up. Their latest press conference — which they gave together— is pretty indicative of a full-fledged bromance that fans simply can’t get enough of.
The cryptic story post showed Caufield sitting with a dog between his legs in the bay window of an empty room, with the blinds strategically drawn so that viewers couldn’t deduce the location from the view outside (though fans on Twitter still tried).
He captioned the photo with a key emoji and confirmed the location by indicating the local area code, 514.
Height:
1.7 m
With physical and medical testing coming up, it’s also time to note the height and weight of players heading into the next schedule.
Often, when it comes to height, teams have fun “boosting” the height of certain players. This year, Cole Caufield suddenly went from 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9.
They say a guy grows to be 21, but I have a hard time buying that Caufield landed 2 inches taller this year… That’s a way of doing things at the junior level and in the NHL, which is to increase the size of the smaller guys by an inch or two.
