Wreck
Cody Ware was treated and released from Infield Care Center after a hard wreck at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday. Ware was assisted out of his No. 51 Ford after halfway through Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race, where he was taken via ambulance to the infield care center.
Ware crashed into the Turn 4 retaining wall, prompting the race’s eighth caution period to finish 167th of the scheduled 334 laps. His car looked past the barrier and then exited the pit wall before coming to rest.
Update

Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at Texas Motor Speedway took a scary turn when Cody Ware’s car collided with an exterior wall between Turns 3 and 4.
A car incident occurred on lap 168 during Stage 2 of the Autotrader Ecopark Automotive 500. Ware’s car approached the wall at high speed and was then pushed into the middle of the track. Ware was unable to gain control of the car as it slid down a pothole.
Ware’s car came to a halt only after hitting a pothole road wall. It narrowly escaped killing the crew members. So the collision was as terrible as it could have been.
The vehicle was heavily damaged: the front bumper appears to have been shaved as a result of the impact. It also looked like one of the crush panels was dismantled before the car hit the pothole road barrier.
Wife
