NASCAR driver Cody Ware had a scary moment at the Autotrader Ecopark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday when he was involved in a nasty accident and needed immediate medical attention.

On lap 168, Number 51 Ford hit the wall and lost control as it headed towards Ware’s pothole road. He crashed his car at a stop, and he looked bad because he was having trouble getting out of his car.

Ware was put in an ambulance and taken to an infield care centre. According to several reports, he was later diagnosed with a concussion.

Driver BJ McLeod told SiriusXM NASCAR that Ware would be “OK.”

According to Fox Sports, Ware found no broken bones after the X-ray results came back from the Infield Care Center. However, he has some pain in his ankle.

What happened to

Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at Texas Motor Speedway took a scary turn when Cody Ware’s car collided with an exterior wall between Turns 3 and 4.

A car incident occurred on lap 168 during Stage 2 of the Autotrader Ecopark Automotive 500. Ware’s car approached the wall at high speed and was then pushed into the middle of the track. Ware was unable to gain control of the car as it slid down a pothole.

Ware’s car came to a halt only after hitting a pothole road wall. It narrowly escaped killing the crew members. So the collision was as terrible as it could have been.

The vehicle was heavily damaged: the front bumper appears to have been shaved as a result of the impact. It also looked like one of the crush panels was dismantled before the car hit the pothole road barrier.

Condition

The condition of Cody Ware is not good. NASCAR Cup Series driver Cody Ware survived a serious injury after a hard crash at Texas Motor Speedway at the Autotrader Ecopark Automotive 500 on Sunday.

Ware lost control of his number 51 Rick Ware Racing Ford coming off Turn 4, hit the outside wall hard on lap 168, then went across the track and hit the pit road wall.

After the accident, rescue workers loaded the ware on a stretcher. He was taken to an infield care center instead of a major medical centre, which is always a good sign. Even more good news came, as NASCAR announced that Ware had been treated and released, and had no injuries or broken bones (via Fox Sports’ Bob Pokras).
