Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi have officially left All Elite Wrestling, a statement from the organization and the wrestler himself confirmed Tuesday. According to reports, Cody was working as a free agent since the beginning of the year. Cody and AEW failed to agree on the terms of a new contract, which could be the reason for their withdrawal from the promotion. Cody was the wrestler as well as the executive vice president of the company. AEW CEO Tony Khan released a statement thanking Cody and his wife Brandi for helping launch All Elite Wrestling.

“Cody and Brandi Rhodes were integral to the launch of All Elite Wrestling. Cody’s ability to match his courage and his passion for our industry and his love for community outreach has made AEW fulfill our mission to give fans what they want. Helped to do what they long needed’ something new, innovative and lasting. Brandi helped shape the AEW story for us, and I appreciate how hard she worked for us in and off the ring I have great respect and admiration for Cody and Brandi, and I wish them both the best as they move forward from AEW,” Tony Khan said in his statement.

Ever since the news of Cody leaving AEW surfaced, it is being reported that the 36-year-old may soon return to do his business in WWE. However, Cody is yet to confirm this and no official statement has been made by WWE. Rhodes was part of the founding of the WWE from 2006 to 2016, but he parted ways with the company after a feud with Triple H. Rhodes’ father Dusty Rhodes was also a WWE wrestler.
