Coco Gauff vs Mihaela Buzarnescu: Preview
Life has been good for 18-year-old Coco Gauff, after playing her first Grand Slam in Paris last month. Many people are excited about this teenager’s future, and for good reason. In their first round match, they faced some resistance against Romanian EG Russia as it was a fight that lasted two and a half hours. These early challenges can sometimes be a blessing, especially in the case of Gough, who has played just one grass tournament as a preparation for Wimbledon 2022.
She faces another Romanian – 34-year-old Mihela Buzarnescu – on Thursday. It was a competitive first-round victory for him against German teenager Nastassja Schunk. Mihaila’s French Open campaign did not last long as she was knocked out in the early rounds. Now that she’s passed that initial hurdle, she’ll want to make it count.
