The 2023 US Open singles champion teamed up with Czech Katerina Siniakova to lift the 2024 French Open doubles title by defeating Italian pair Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in the final on Sunday (June 9). ,
This is Gauff’s first Grand Slam title in doubles after losing in the finals of the 2022 French Open and 2021 US Open.
“It’s one of those things that when you least expect it, it happens,” said Gauff, who lost to eventual winner Iga Swiatek in the singles semifinals.
The 20-year-old and fifth seed Siniakova were playing together for the first time since Gauff’s all-time partner Jessica Pegula was forced to withdraw before the tournament due to injury.

She added, “Every match she plays, I cheer for her.”
Osaka, a former No. 1-ranked tennis player, has not participated in any tournament since September 2022. She welcomed a baby girl named Shai with her boyfriend, rapper Cordae, in July. She has said that she plans to return to tennis to compete at the 2024 Australian Open in January.
