One of the biggest deals of the offseason was the 49ers acquiring Christian McCaffrey from the Panthers.

McCaffrey has flourished not as a focal point in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, but as a complement to an already elite group of weapons.

McCaffrey had 1,210 yards passing in 11 games with the 49ers in the regular season, along with 10 touchdowns (plus a passing TD to boot). He has been a solid weapon for both Jimmy Garoppolo and Brock Purdy and a great running back, as he has been throughout his career.

Who did the 49ers part with to bring back McCaffrey in October? Sporting News takes a look back at the trade, along with what options are now available in the divisional round.

Christian McCaffrey Business Overview
In October, the 49ers and Panthers agreed to a trade that would send McCaffrey to the Bay Area.

McCaffrey was the reason for many of the selections, and the Panthers did not send any selections in return, making McCaffrey the real focus.

49ers Receive: RB Christian McCaffrey
Panthers receive: 2023 second-round pick, 2023 third-round pick, 2023 fourth-round pick, 2024 fifth-round pick
Although the Panthers did not receive any selections in the first round, which made the trade a bit of a mess at the time, they still received the majority of the 49ers’ draft picks this season.

If the 49ers are eliminated this weekend, those selections will appear as Nos. 25-28 in Rounds 2, 3 and 4, depending on the records of the other losers.

If the 49ers reach conference championship weekend, they will be either No. 29 or 30. If they lose the Super Bowl it will be No. 31. And if they win the Super Bowl.

Dylan is neither a wide receiver like his oldest brother nor a running back like Christian McCaffrey. Instead, he plays as a quarterback. Previously at Michigan, he transferred to Northern Colorado, where he was the quarterback the past two seasons, playing under his own brother (offensive coordinator). Last year, he threw 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for the season. Luke McCaffrey’s youngest brother, Luke McCaffrey, currently plays as a wide receiver. He was previously the quarterback but has since changed his position. He joined Nebraska in 2019 and played with them through 2020 before joining Rice in 2021. He played as a quarterback at Nebraska. He then transferred to Louisville, but did not play for them before joining the current program at Rice University and gradually transitioned to the wide receiver position. All of the McCaffrey brothers have some connection to professional or college football and that begs the question, how did a family become so invested in the sport? The answer to this comes from their parents, about whom we will discuss a little now.

At the end of the first half, NBC cameras showed McCaffrey changing helmets on the sideline and an equipment manager on each side tightening the screws of his chin strap.

He – with his usual absurdist demeanor – saw “Christian McCaffrey is a robot” jokes spread from all corners.

“Proof CMC is a football robot,” the NFL’s official

Fantasy Alarm analyst Andrew Cooper wrote, “Christian McCaffrey is a robot I knew about.”

“We can rebuild it. Another user wrote, we can make him stronger than before.
