What happened to

Chris Paul: What happened to| Top 75| Ejection

Phoenix Suns star guard Chris Paul suffered a thumb injury in a match against the Houston Rockets last week. It happened on a foul that went non-stop, which led to Paul being kicked out of said game.

With the future Hall of Famer already sidelined for Sunday’s All-Star Game, we’re now hearing more details about the injury. That’s not great news for Paul and his championship-competitive Sons team.

According to Shams Charaniya of The Athletic, Paul suffered a fracture in his right thumb. They will be re-evaluated in 6-8 weeks.

To say that this timeline for a league-best Sans team is troubling would be an understatement. The six-week deadline will take us to the final week of the regular season. If Paul is out for eight weeks or more, he will miss at least the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Again, the timeline is set for reassessment only. When will Chris Paul actually be back on the court, nothing can be said.

The good news here is that the Phoenix claims a record of 48-10 and are 6.5 games ahead of the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference. Even if Paul is injured, it will be difficult for Golden State to make that ground.

The NBA began its 75th anniversary season with a list of the top-75 greatest players in league history, and the Phoenix Suns were represented by both current and previous years. A panel consisting of current and former players, front office officials, coaches and current and former media was asked to help make their list.

25 were announced ahead of the season opener on Tuesday followed by another 25 revealed yesterday afternoon. Final 25 will release today at 3:00 PM. Phoenix time on TNT.

Of course, Chris Paul made the list. I expected him and was glad when he was official.

Before the approval, when asked about the possibility of him being part of the 75th anniversary team, Paul could not contain his excitement.

“Ah man, that would mean a lot,” said the Sun superstar, according to AZ Central’s Duane Rankin. “That would mean a lot.”

Every team has taken a leap since his arrival, including our Phoenix Suns, who ended a decade-long playoff drought with a journey to the NBA Finals in the first season as they ran the show.

Chris began his career as a fourth overall finisher from Wake Forest by the New Orleans Hornets, where he played for six seasons before moving to the Los Angeles Clippers. His six-year stint at Angels City was followed by two seasons with the Houston Rockets and one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is starting his second year in the Valley.
