Christopher Michael Beard (born February 18, 1973) is an American basketball coach who is the men’s basketball coach at the University of Texas at Austin. He previously coached at Texas Tech, Little Rock, Angelo State and McMurray. Beard graduated from high school at McCullough High School in Woodlands, Texas. He was a manager in Texas under Longhorn’s former coach Tom Penders, who graduated in 1995 with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. He received his Masters in Education from Abilene Christian University where he served as a graduate assistant in 1998.

“We are very excited that we will have a full house,” said Mark Adams, Beard’s former assistant, who was promoted to head coach after Beard moved to Texas last April. “We encourage our fans to be loud, rowdy, have fun.
