What happened to
New England Patriots linebacker Chaz Vinovich left with a hamstring injury during the second half of the team’s Week Six competition against the Dallas Cowboys. The 26-year-old was kicked off the field after a Patriots punt at the start of the third quarter. Vinovich went to the locker room and was later declared a suspect to return. He was later downgraded to Suspicion and eventually dropped for the remainder of the game in the fourth quarter. Shortly thereafter, Vinovich was placed on wounded reserve, which was officially designated on 19 October.
On Thursday, the 2019 third-round draft selection from the University of Michigan returned to practice, thus opening a 21-day window to activate the Patriots’ 53-man roster. Now that he has rejoined the team in practice, Vinovich can be active at any time. If he does not activate in that window, he will return to injured reserve for the rest of the year, thus ending his 2021 season.
