According to a report, The death of former Pittsburgh Steeler and New England Patriot running back Charles Johnson, who died in July at the age of 50, has been ruled a suicide, by the North Carolina state medical examiner.

According to a report released by the state medical examiner’s office, he was ruled a suicide after it was determined that he overdosed on drugs inside a North Carolina hotel room.
Johnson’s report and found that the 50-year-old man was found dead on July 17 inside a Hampton Inn room 6.5 miles from his home. A week before he died, reports said Johnson had been “acting strangely” and had “purchased a funeral and cremation service.”
Reason for Suicide
No foul play is suspected in Johnson’s death, and his untimely death has been ruled a suicide. The former Patriots wide receiver was suffering from a disability caused by wear and tear from playing football.
