Manchester United are in danger of an early exit from the Champions League after losing 3-2 at home to Galatasaray and Arsenal also suffered a crushing defeat on Wednesday morning.

Rasmus Hjolund twice put United ahead, but Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Akturkoglu and Mauro Icardi struck for the Turkish giants as they slipped to a sixth defeat in nine games.

United’s worrying form under Eric ten Hag continues, having lost six of their last 10 games to sit bottom of the group and 10th in the Premier League.

United have lost their opening two Champions League group games for the first time.

New goalkeeper Andre Onana had another night to forget in Europe. Rasmus Hjolund twice gave United the lead, but Galatasaray fought back thanks to goals from Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Akturkoglu and Mauro Icardi to win away from home in the Champions League for the first time in 10 years.

Onana accepted responsibility after his mistake, helping Bayern Munich make their Group A debut in a 4–3 defeat to United in Germany.

The Cameroonian was once again at fault for the move which led to Casemiro being sent off for conceding a penalty in the 77th minute.
