Watson is currently facing 22 active civil charges and 10 criminal complaints on sexual misconduct charges. Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin, has previously said that all 22 plaintiffs lied about Watson’s conduct and that any alleged sexual activity that occurred during Watson’s massage appointments was consensual.

The NFL, like the local police, is investigating Watson’s conduct. There is also an open grand jury investigation into criminal misconduct.

While currently under investigation, Watson has not been banned by the NFL from participating in team activities.

Watson has been ruled out of Sunday’s Houston game versus the Jaguars for non-football reasons. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he would be excluded under that limitation, except at a dramatic turn.

Keenum began his college career for the Houston Cougars during the 2006 season. During Keenum’s new season, senior Kevin Kolb took over the starting quarterback position for the Cougars, prompting the coaching staff to redshirt Keenum for the season. The 2006 Cougars won the Conference USA Championship, and Kolb was drafted by the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.

In fall camp prior to the 2007 season, the Cougars held a de facto quarterback contest to fill the starting position vacated by the departure of four-year starter Kevin Kolb. The competition swung between Keenum and sophomore Blake Joseph over two-a-days and throughout most of the season, with each player displaying a different set of strengths and weaknesses. Keenum made his first collegiate appearance on September 1, 2007, when the Cougars began the season at Oregon. He threw for 179 yards and made touchdowns on 14 of 27 passings and added 47 rushing yards in nine carries against the Ducks. [10] In the second game against Sea-USA rival Tulane, Keenum threw for 185 yards and made a touchdown on 21 of 13 passes, giving Houston a 34–10 win.  In the third game of the year against Colorado State, Keenum relieved starter Blake Joseph and scored four touchdowns. For this performance, Keenum was recognized as CollegeSportsReport.com’s Division I FBS National Performer of the Week. Keenum played as quarterback in all thirteen games of the season, starting in seven.

Who does play for

Case Keenum doesn’t feel like she has to do anything more than usual to prepare for her debut as Browns quarterback Thursday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.

That’s because Keenum, a nine-year veteran, has prepared to play in every game since joining Cleveland in 2020. With 71 career games and 62 starts under him, Keenum knows what it takes to get ready for game day, but Brown Haven ‘hasn’t called him yet to test his preparation’

That turns on Thursday.

The Browns announced on Wednesday that Keenum would start against the Broncos for Week 7 in place of Baker Mayfield. Mayfield, who started 51 straight games since becoming the Browns quarterback in 2018, was ruled out for the game as he wanted to rest. He has been playing for the second week with a left shoulder injury.

Mayfield will be sorely missed by Cleveland, but he has plenty of reasons to trust Keenum.

“I feel very prepared,” Keenum said on Wednesday. “I’m ready. You don’t have to be ready if you’re ready, and I’ve been ready since I’m here. I’m excited.”
