Wentz started each of Indianapolis’s first two games following foot surgery in early August. He completed 45 of 69 passes for 498 yards and three touchdowns for one interception. He also recorded nine races for 60 yards. Irsay said Wentz wants to play on Sunday, but it will probably be a game-time decision.
“I know how hard she worked, I know she’s respected in the locker room and all those things,” Irsay said. “But he has to be healthy.”
The Athletic reported Sunday that Wentz will begin Sunday’s game versus the Titans.

The Colts are banking on a resurgence from their 28-year-old quarterback, who was benched at the end of last season in Philadelphia. Indy sent Wentz a 3-round pick for the Eagles in the 2021 NFL Draft, as well as a conditional (either 1- or 2-round) pick in 2022.
