Game 7
For six games, the Hurricanes and Bruins fought in a first-round series of curious, recurrent blowouts. Back-to-back 5-2 and 5-1 results defined this strangely tense playoff fight. It was mind blowing.
In Game 7 on Saturday, Carolina and Boston finally fought hard. An epic battle for all the marbles. When it comes to the NHL playoffs, what could be better? Well, if you lose Game 7, it’s not so good.
Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the underdog Bruins (1.5), their season ended as the Hurricanes knocked them out in a 3–2 nail-biter. Such is life in the NHL postseason. A squad rejoices. Another regrets every missed opportunity.
The 2022 Stanley Cup playoff games are reaching the second round with a record-tying amount of 7s. The second round of the 2022 playoffs begins next week. The Carolina Hurricanes were one of those five Game 7s in the first round. Carolina was able to defeat the Boston Bruins 4–3 in the series to advance.
Next playoff game
