In all three phases, the Miami Dolphins had all the answers.

Jaylen Waddle had nine catches for a season-best 137 yards and a touchdown, and the Dolphins feasted off five sacks and three interceptions on the way to beating the Carolina Panthers 33-10 on Sunday.

“We look like the team that we kind of wanted to be at the beginning of this year,” Tagovailoa said.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was benched in his second start back with Carolina on Sunday, amid an ugly performance in a blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins. Newton was pulled for P.J. Walker with the Panthers trailing the Dolphins 30-10 in the fourth quarter after posting a passer rating of 5.8. Miami went on to win 33-10.

Newton, who signed with Carolina on Nov. 11, finished 5 of 21 for 92 yards and two interceptions, adding three carries for 5 yards and a touchdown. He had thrown for 189 yards with three total touchdowns

Press Conference Today:

Reed added that Newton “did answer questions for several minutes before departing, but clearly took an all business approach today.”

The Panthers later released a statement on Newton’s behalf via Conor Orr of The MMQB, which read, “Cam didn’t intend to be discourteous toward any specific media member. In his mind after answering questions for nine minutes he had fulfilled his obligations.”

Bench:

Newton was replaced by P.J. Walker with just over 10 minutes remaining and the Panthers trailing by 20.

Coach Matt Rhule said he told Newton the switch was made because the Panthers (5-7) were in hurry-up mode and Walker had a better grasp of the two-minute offense.

Qb rating:

In a 33-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Newton completed just 5 of 21 passes for 92 yards for the Carolina Panthers, throwing two interceptions and finishing with a passer rating of 5.8 — the lowest of his career over 151 appearances between the regular and postseason.
