Sidelined:
New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton will be away from the team until Thursday because of a “misunderstanding” about COVID-19 tests “conducted away from NFL facilities,” the franchise announced Monday.
Newton’s absence from the team comes after he traveled to a team-approved medical appointment that required him to leave the New England area, the Patriots said.

Newton previously declined to reveal whether he is vaccinated. The signal-caller, however, is one of few players on the Patriots who goes on and off the field while wearing a mask. He also undergoes daily COVID-19 testing, another stipulation for unvaccinated players.
Wife:
Kia Proctor first gained fame as a dancer under the name ‘Hazel’ at Washington DC Stadium Club, a strip club in Washington, D.C.
It’s unknown if Newton, who is from Atlanta, met Proctor while she was a stripper, but she moved to the Georgia city to work as a party host and pursue a modeling career after her dancing career.

Not at Practice:
Newton will be away from the team until Thursday after he traveled to a club-approved medical appointment outside of the New England area over the weekend. There was a “misunderstanding” with the testing that was conducted away from New England’s facilities, so now Newton will have to practice virtually before returning to the team on Thursday.

Vaccine:
This news confirms that Newton is not vaccinated,
as the five day absence is linked to those who haven’t taken the vaccine. He will be eligible to return to practice on August 26th, which will be the second day of joint practices between the Patriots and Giants
Covid:
Newton is absent from the Patriots’ Monday session and will not be with the team until later in the week. The club explained Newton’s absence with a statement released Monday:
“On Saturday, Cam Newton traveled to a club-approved medical appointment that required him to leave the New England area,” the statement read. “He received daily COVID tests, which were all negative. Due to a misunderstanding about tests conducted away from NFL facilities, and as required by the NFL-NFLPA protocols, Cam will be subject to the five-day entry cadence process before returning to the facility. Cam will continue participating virtually in team activities and return to the club facility on Thursday, August 26.”
