Cam Newton is one of the most recognizable and famous quarterbacks in the NFL. Newton was a stand-out football player in college, having announced himself at the national level after winning the 2010 Heisman Trophy.
He was first selected by the Carolina Panthers in the 2011 NFL Draft and set several rookie records on his way to winning Offensive Rookie of the Year.
The 33-year-old quickly became one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, winning Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2015 and leading the Panthers to Super Bowl 50, where they lost to the Denver Broncos.

At the NFL’s annual meeting in West Palm Beach, Fla., the Panthers’ leadership made it clear they were ready to bring back Cam Newton for the 2022 season. But Newton must decide what he wants.
“I have teams that are interested in signing me,” Newton told ESPN’s Adam Schefter in a text. “I am waiting to be the best fit as it relates to winning the championship and getting a fair chance of playing.”
Just last week, Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer said the door was open for Newton to return, before adding, “He wants to come back.” Newton, 32, was drafted by the Panthers in 2011, where he had an illustrious career, including the 2015 MVP season and a Super Bowl run. Carolina released him in 2020 after injuries hampered his production. He then signed with the Patriots, but was released after just a year.
