Trade rumors

Cam Akers: Trade rumors| Rumors| Backup

McVay announced that Running Back Cam Acres will not play this Sunday. It’s not even related to the injury. Instead, the generally straightforward coach was very clear about Akers’ future with the Rams, and this is not the best sign for fans in the third year.

It is worth noting that Akers went through a nightmare with the Rams in the 2021 season, as he missed all but one of his team’s regular season games due to an Achilles injury.

Nevertheless, he came back in time for the playoffs and contributed to their Super Bowl win against the Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately, the low threat hasn’t been so efficient this season, and it looks like the time has come for the reckoning.

Cam Acre’s average for the start of the 2022 season has been, at best, stats. He has 151 rushing yards and mediocre rushing touchdowns in five matches so far this season. Unfortunately, it won’t cut it for a Rams team looking to repeat themselves as champions this season.

Cam Akers: Trade rumors| Rumors| Backup

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay announced this Friday afternoon that Cam Akers would not play this Sunday. It’s not even related to the injury.

Akers missed Thursday and Friday practice for “personal” reasons.

However, McVay declined to comment on whether the 23-year-old running back will be a member of the Rams in the future.
We certainly want to give Cam Acers the privacy and respect to be away from the team.

But NFL fans can’t help but wonder if McVay and the Rams are in touch with a team that needs to run.

A blockbuster NFL trade may be in the works. Perhaps the Rams are targeting Christian McCaffrey from the Panthers?

The Rams are 2-3 to start the 2022 season and play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Backup

The future with the franchise may also be in doubt.

McVay told reporters that Akers and the team are “working through some things” and that he failed to confirm whether the former Florida State running back would be with the Rams in the future, per Roderick. .

With doubts over Akers’ future, who’s backing up Ram? That would be Darrell Henderson.

The Memphis Product initially began the season as a Los Angeles lead, starting the Rams’ first three games, but their involvement in the offense diminished with Acres playing a larger role.

Now that Acres is out, Henderson will be expected to take the lion’s share of running back touches. Henderson’s backup, and new No. 2 runner in LA, is Malcolm Brown.

If Henderson is available in your fantasy football league, you should scoop him up right away if he has a roster spot for him. The Browns should only be rostered in the Deep League.
