Ridley attended and played college football at the University of Alabama under Nick Saban. Ridley earned instant playing time in 2015 as a true freshman. In his first career game on September 5, 2015, he made three receptions for 22 yards against the University of Wisconsin. He made his first collegiate touchdown on September 26 in a win over Louisiana-Monroe. On January 10, 2018, it was announced that Ridley would be skipping his senior year at Alabama in favor of the 2018 NFL Draft. Throwing games

After it became public knowledge about Calvin Ridley being suspended for gambling on NFL games, everyone had their own opinion. But few stances were as strong, or possibly accusatory, as those of Emmanuel Acho.

According to the NFL, Ridley made the bet during a five-day period in late November 2021, when he was away from a club facility to focus on his “mental well-being”. The former first-round pick was played in just five matches in 2021.

The NFL said its investigation found that no insider information was used or that any games were compromised.

NFL Network reported that Ridley used his personal phone to place Parley bets, including betting on the Falcons.

Atlanta falcons

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley has been suspended for at least the 2022 season after gambling on games in 2021.

In a series of tweets Monday after the suspension was announced, Ridley said he bet a total of $1,500 and added that “I don’t have a gambling problem.” He also tweeted that he couldn’t even watch football at the time he made the bet. He added that he’s “going to be more healthy when I get back” and “I know I was wrong but I’m getting 1 year off.”

The Falcons said they are preparing for the 2022 season such that Ridley will not be with them.

News

Less than 24 hours later, the NFL suspended Atlanta Falcons wideout Calvin Ridley for a year for gambling on league games during the 2021 season—including a Falcons game—while playing non-football on the Ridley team. Injury was on the list.

A bed that’s already on the verge of a fire when it comes to the integrity of wins and losses, thanks to a lawsuit from former Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores, who is alleging that team owner Stephen Ross molested him. $100,000 was offered for every loss. Stacked up in 2019. Now you add to Ridley’s sledgehammer suspension, which happened after he used a mobile betting platform—the kind widely promoted by many of the NFL’s gambling sponsorship partners—on NFL teams over a period of five days. Three parlays to bet. Florida state last November.
