Highlights
The 2021 season has seen some of the most chaos and equanimity we have seen in quite some time. Part of that chaos involved true newcomers who made an impact on their respective teams.
A true freshman quarterback replaced a preseason Heisman candidate in Oklahoma. Texas’ late inclusion in the 2021 class helped Longhorn gain yards. A Georgia tight end dominated from the start.
First-year players got ready to play and made changes across the country. With the regular season coming to an end, here is the ESPN True Freshman All-America List for 2021.
High School
Williams attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC. As a junior in 2019, he covered 1,770 yards with 19 touchdowns and 838 yards with 18 touchdowns. His high school did not play football in his senior year in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, he was named the Elite 11 Finals MVP. A five-star recruit, Williams committed to playing college football at the University of Oklahoma.
Age
Caleb Williams is 19 years old. He comes from an African American family.
He stands six feet in a niche or 1.93 meters. His weight is around 96 kg.
Williams was born in the capital of America. In Washington DC, he attended Gonzaga College High School.
In the year 2019, he completed 19 touchdowns in his junior year, passing 17000 years.
Even though his school didn’t do much in 2020, he was named Elite 11 MVP.
Furthermore, he chose the University of Oklahoma as his choice for further studies.
Video
After Caleb Williams announced his decision to move to USC on Tuesday, the Trojans and Williams left an official video of their decision to move their talents to Los Angeles.
“Out of all the schools, this is going to be USC,” said the narrator of the video. “It’s their success at the collegiate level … When you have as many players as you have coming into the NFL in all positions, I don’t think there’s any way to compete.”
The promotional video includes sweeping shots at the iconic Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena and the famous front flip of former Trojans standout Reggie Bush in the end zone. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg also appear in the video, with Snoop rapping about his past moments with USC Football.
Transfer
USC has secured a significant commitment from star quarterback Caleb Williams, who will be reunited with coach Lincoln Riley after relocating from Oklahoma. Williams was the No. 2 quarterback in the 2021 recruit class before enjoying a breakout freshman season for the Sooners this past season.
“I wanted to go somewhere I thought would get me the best development, both on and off the field,” Williams told ESPN’s Pete Thmel. “Knowing coach Riley and being familiar with his offense certainly played a part in my selection, as well as knowing some of the guys on the team already.”
