Bishard “Budda” Baker was born on January 10, 1996, and currently plays as a safety for the Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL). Prior to his professional career, he played college football at the University of Washington, and was drafted by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

It has been reported by ESPN that Budda Baker, a two-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowl safety for the Arizona Cardinals, has requested a trade. In February, Baker informed the team that he wanted to be traded or given a new deal that would make him the highest-paid safety in the NFL. Baker is currently under contract with the Cardinals for the next two seasons, with a salary of just over $13 million in 2023 and $14.2 million in 2024.

Baker was selected as the 36th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons. He was also named an All-Pro during his rookie year. Baker has started in 83 games for the Cardinals and has recorded seven interceptions, six forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, 7.5 sacks, and 32 tackles for loss during his first six seasons in the league.

On August 27, 2020, Budda Baker agreed to a 4-year contract extension with the Arizona Cardinals, which is valued at $59 million. The extension includes $33.1 million in guarantees, out of which $22.1 million is fully guaranteed. The complete guarantee comprises Baker’s salaries for 2020 and 2021, a signing bonus of $10 million, and a protected option bonus of $7.1 million, which is due in 2021. As a result of the extension, Baker’s 2020 cap charge rose by slightly more than $1.6 million.
