Injury
Brody Grundy could be out for three months due to a serious knee injury.
Collingwood was set to be without Starr Ruckman for 10-12 weeks this morning as he underwent scans for PCL damage.
Sources said this morning that Grundy suffered a grade 3 PCL strain after colliding with Sam Draper on his knees.
The injury amplifies his Grundy’s Lionheart Lionheart at the MCG. He admitted that he was in pain after the last siren, but was also optimistic that he had survived a serious injury.
“(It) is so sore, he jumps hard, drapes, so he earned me it. I should be fine, of course,” Grundy told Fox Footy.
It’s a shattering blow for Pies and Grundy, who showed promising signs of life on Anzac Day with 16 disposes, 33 hitouts and some big plays in the final quarter.
Grandy was knocked to a knee against the Bombers in the third quarter, but Collingwood was able to soldier on as a dug-in to stop his arch-rival.
His absence now places a heavy burden on out-of-contract big man Darcy Cameron, who will have to step up to assume the role of No. 1 ruck.
Mason Cox could also be set to recall as a result.
Grundy’s injury comes with Nathan Kruger facing season-ending surgery on a dislocated shoulder.
Krieger has experienced a turbulent start to his Collingwood career since crossing over from Geelong, with suspension, concussion and two shoulder dislocations ruining his first season with the Pies.
Grundy has been sustainable throughout his career, playing at least 19 games each season since 2014.

Supercoach
AFL Supercoach 2022 is changing the landscape with more premium options available than ever before.
Previously, you could usually set-and-forget star ruck duo Max Gone and Brody Grundy for an entire season.
However, some new challengers have emerged for the throne in 2022.

Contract
Collingwood superstar Brody Grundy says he is sick and tired of linking his seven-year, $7 million contract with the worst start to the season since 2005.
Despite his team’s woes, Grundy has had a strong individual season and is calling on his critics to move on from the conversation.
“Unfortunately those comments will always be there,” he told 7NEWS Melbourne ahead of the community umpire recognition round.
“It’s just part of being a marquee player at Collingwood and I’ve come to terms with it. The reality is, I think, maybe the media hasn’t come up with it.
“While they can’t appreciate that me and my whole teammates are giving our best every single week and we want to play for Nathan (Buckley), we want to play for each other, give him the table. But it needs to come and appreciate it. We’re doing our best.”
Grundy’s lucrative deal is raised as a problem for the club every time the Pies suffer – and this year they have come thick and fast.
“If you’re going to pay someone a million dollars a year, they have to be the difference in the game,” North Melbourne Premiership winner David King said after the loss in Round One.
