Brodie Grundy has been traded to Sydney.
The Demons will receive pick 46 this year and Sydney’s future second-round pick.
Sydney Swans acting football general manager Charlie Gardiner said Grundy would bring a lot to the team.
Gardiner said, “We are excited to be able to bring Brodie to Sydney – he is an excellent individual and a distinctive ruckman in the competition, and he will be a fantastic addition to our club.”
“We worked closely with Melbourne to facilitate the trade and we look forward to seeing Brodie in the red and white in 2024.”
Sydney swans
The Sydney Swans are thrilled to confirm that Brodie Grundy will join the club in 2024.
The two-time All Australian arrived at the Swans having played 194 games for two clubs.
Originally taken by Collingwood with pick 19 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft, Grundy has played 194 games with the Magpies and Melbourne.
The 29-year-old has featured in four finals campaigns, including the 2018 Grand Final.

The Swans secured Grundy with selection 46 and a future second round pick in the 2023 AFL Draft.
Salary
As part of the trade, Sydney has agreed to take over the final four years of Grundy’s contract from Melbourne at around $650,000 a year. Collingwood will also continue to pay an additional portion of Grundy’s salary for the remainder of his deal, which runs until the end of 2027.
Brother
Brodie has a younger brother, Riley, who was drafted to Port Adelaide with pick 73 in the 2018 draft.
