Brett Favre: Green bay packers| Mississippi welfare| Welfare scandal
Favre is accused of having “exclusive access” to former Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant and distributing state welfare funds, including a $5 million grant for a volleyball stadium at the quarterback’s alma mater — the University of Southern Mississippi — and a pharmaceutical company. As Mississippi Today reports Wednesday, the company, Prevacus, backed the quarterback.

In an investigative article by Anna Wolfe for Mississippi Today, Brett Favre’s texts show the quarterback demanding money from Mississippi officials several times. According to Wolfe, the former Packers QB’s expenses totaled more than $8 million
With the drug company investment, the volleyball arena and other payouts, at least $8 million in misspending auditors identified within Mississippi’s larger welfare scandal stemmed from Favre’s requests or fees. [Nancy] New’s nonprofit, called Mississippi Community Education Center and primarily funded by MDHS, directly paid Favre more than $1 million to be a spokesman for the Families First for Mississippi program.

The article’s text messages further blame Favre, as text trails show him in the act of seeking favors from Mississippi officials. Even more damaging is the fact that the Packers QB apparently took this step for profit, being quoted as saying:
“Call me crazy but my goal is to take home 20 million when it’s all said and done,”
The Favre camp is yet to respond to these new claims. The ex-Packers QB earlier in a lengthy Twitter rant denied involvement in this fraudulent activity, saying he would never do it for the state and its people.
Welfare scandal
Brett Favre will go down as a Green Bay Packers all-time great, but he’s currently in a bit of trouble due to some shocking accusations made against him. On top of that, the evidence is quite damning as well.
According to Mississippi Today, the publication was able to obtain text messages Favre sent that put pressure on welfare officials in Mississippi to use taxpayer funds for one of his pet projects.
