Leicester City are back from their international break and they expect it to be a little better this time around.

Returning from the first international break, they recorded just one win in seven, and that was against Millwall in the Carabao Cup. Wins in the Premier League and Europa League are hard to come by.

Europa competitions are proving to be a difficult balancing act for some heavyweight clubs and as groups approach the halfway point this week, big clubs like Leicester and Napoli run the risk of falling hard. Leicester beat Manchester United 4-2 in the Premier League on Saturday, but manager Brendan Rodgers’ habit of resting players in Europe means they finish last in Group C, where they face Spartak on Wednesday. Will travel to Moscow.

Leicester started a reserve team for their tour of Eastern Europe on the second match day, did not manage a shot on goal and lost 1–0 in Warsaw. They now have an even longer journey and follow it up with a difficult journey to Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.

“We will pick a team to win the match. We have all our fit players here because this is a very important game for us,” Rodgers said at a pre-match press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

Asked whether Jamie Vardy, who played the last two minutes against Napoli and the last six against Leggia, would start, Rodgers replied: “You’ll see tomorrow.” Captain Ricardo Pereira said Leicester needed to start winning in Europe.
