Vs dodgers game 5:

For the fourth time in these playoffs, the Dodgers have staved off elimination. The Dodgers gave Kenley Jansen plenty of insurance for the ninth inning.

With an 11-2 rout of the Atlanta Braves in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series, the Dodgers still trail the best-of-seven series three games to two, but have done enough to send the series back to Atlanta.

Vs dodgers game 4:

Two names who have become synonymous with the Braves this postseason played hero on Saturday: Eddie Rosario and Tyler Matzek.

Responding to a freshly tied game in the bottom of the fourth inning, Rosario continued his hot hitting with a go-ahead three-run homer off Dodgers hurler Walker Buehler to put the Braves up for good. Then, in the seventh, when the Dodgers had the tying run in scoring position with no one out in a two-run game, Matzek came out of the bullpen and struck out three straight batters to strand the runners.

The Braves last made it to the World Series in 1999, when they were swept by the New York Yankees. They last won the title over Cleveland in 1995 and made it back to the series in 1996, but they fell to the Yankees then, too.

The Braves will next take on the Houston Astros, who finished off the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS on Friday night. Game 1 of that series is set for Tuesday night in Houston.

Who won the game last night:

Chris Taylor homered three times, becoming the first player in MLB history to do so in a potential elimination game, as the Los Angeles Dodgers prevailed in Game 5 of the NLCS on Thursday. With their 11-2 blowout win over the Braves at home, the Dodgers cut their deficit in the best-of-seven series to three games to two and forced a Game 6 back in Atlanta on Saturday.

Atlanta barged to an early 2-0 lead in Game 5 with a first-inning home run by Freddie Freeman off “opener” Joe Kelly.
